My 7 favorite spots in New York City

by - 8:40 AM

I really don't want to make it sound like I'm a New York specialist or anything, because I've only been once and there's obviously millions of places I haven't been to, but in the 8 days I've been there, I've had the time to do quite a lot of things, and to test quite a lot of restaurants, and I decided to pick my favorites and share them!

A.G KITCHEN

This mexican restaurant came in like a miracle in the middle of our day! We were SO hungry when we walked past it and decided to stop and sit! Not only were they SUPER nice to us, and even talked a few words in French, but as soon as you walk into this place, you can see that one of the cook is making guacamole in the middle of the room, and trust me when I say, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! It was the most delicious guacamole I'd ever had!

70 GREENE APARTMENTS

This is where we stayed during our trip! It's actually located in Jersey City, and it's one 'PATH' station away from the World Trade Center (similar to one subway station) so it's as if you were in the city, except that you get the view of the City! Those apartments are the most beautiful things I've ever seen! They're super luxurious, and the pictures just don't lie at all! It really looks like that! It's super bright, you have an incredible view (we didn't actually ever closed the blinds because it was too beautiful, and there was nothing like waking up in the middle of the night every now and again to a lightful city!

CAFE WHA?

Being the music fan that I am, I just couldn't go to New York City and not go to this place! Café wha is the place where Bob Dylan got discover, and Jimmy Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen and other huge artist playes there as well! We did book a table for a night dedicated to Michael Jackson, so the band played a lot of his songs, and then there was another show where they playes random songs, and honestly, the musicians were so good, the food was delicious, people danced and sang, and it was just an amazing night!

ELLEN'S STARDUST

So apparently everyone's heard about this place! Basically, the waiters and waitresses of this diner are Broadway artists who are just waiting on their next contract! So while they take your orders and bring your food, they also randomly start to sing, one at a time, and deliver a performance of a quality I've rarely seen before! This place is just full of life and the artists here are honestly so talented, it's insane!

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

Okay so I don't think I need to introduce you to this museum... All I can say is that I wouldn't have minded spending the whole of my 8 days in this museum... At all!

GREEN HOOK

This little restaurant was just down our hotel, and it was the cutest thing! We ate there the last day just before heading off to the airport, and it was just perfect, so relaxing (again it's in Jersey City, just on the other side of the Hudson River, so it was calmer than in NYC), the food was simple yet amazing, the waiter was so funny and kind, they have a little terrasse that's just perfect... Just loved it!

EMPORIO

This is a little italian restaurant just outside of Little Italy (I think it's jut outside and not in it, although I'm not sure where Little Italy does begin and end so...) and it has that kind of 'rustic' design, that makes it seem like you're out of a big city for a while! The food was genuine italian food, so amazingly good, and the waiter we had here was actually french and we started chatting as soon as we figured it out, he was really nice!

    1. This was one of the best part of the trip : the apartment! For the same price in Manhattan we'd have gotten a shitty hotel room, but just a path station away we had the prettiest apartment! I really hope you'll get to visit the city someday, no matter where you'll be staying, I'm sure you'll love it just as much as I did!
